Emergency Funding Assistance
Dean of Students CARE Emergency Funding
The Dean of Students CARE emergency funding assists students in meeting basic needs that cannot be covered due to an unexpected emergency situation. Assistance for basic needs is restricted to food, housing, transportation, and utilities. Funding is limited to $500.
Emergency Funding requests will NOT be considered if made for Tuition/Student Account Balances.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled in at least six credit hours at TXST.
- Experienced an unexpected emergency situation.
- Exhausted all financial resources, including student loans awarded through Financial Aid.
- Have not received emergency funding from our office within the same academic year.
Steps
- Complete application with documentation of emergency, need, and monthly budget attached.
- Meet with a CARE Team member in person or virtually.
- If approved, to ensure the funds are available quickly, make sure your direct deposit information is accurate and up to date. Go to the "Student Payment Portal & E-Refunds" link on the Student Business Services webpage.
- If approved, provide a thank you letter indicating the impact of funds.
Documentation Requirements
Applications submitted without proper documentation and monthly budget will be delayed. Make sure your application includes the following:
- Documentation of unexpected emergency.
- Documentation of basic need expected cost.
- Budget of monthly expenses and income, including financial aid refunds.
