Connect with Other Parents

SWAP

Student parents are able to join our SWAP list where, through our Canvas site and emails, they can learn about events and resources, and connect with other student parents. The Canvas page includes discussion posts, crafts and activities for kids, and many other resources! If you are not already added to the list, contact studentparents@txstate.edu to be added!

Raising San Marcos Facebook Group

Many of our student parents have found the Raising San Marcos Facebook page to be helpful in learning about community parenting resources and making connections with other local parents. We are not all involved in this page, nor is it endorsed by the university, but our students have recommended it.

Childcare Options

Financing Childcare

As a full-time undergraduate student, you might be eligible to receive assistance in paying for childcare while you are in school. The program is called Child Care Services (CCS, and some refer to the program as CCMS) and is offered through the Texas Workforce Commission. The Texas State Child Development Center is one of the local childcare facilities that accepts CCS.

Finding Childcare

Finding childcare that is right for you and your child can be difficult. Consider Texas State's Child Development Center.
